At yesterday evening's pregame Skull Session, former Cleveland Cavalier and Akron native LeBron James was introduced by Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer who told the crowd "Before I say a few words I want to introduce one of arguably the greatest champions, greatest competitors, and most importantly,a Buckeye, let's give an Ohio State welcome to LeBron James."
The two-time NBA champion told those in attendance at Saturday's Skull Session, "I promise, I say this all the time...If I had one year of college, I would have ended up down here in Columbus at Ohio State. So no matter where I go in the world, no matter where it lands me, I'll always rock Ohio State colors, scarlet red, every single day. So thank you, make sure you make some noise for these boys tonight."
Though James was greeted with a mixed reception, at least initially, he won the crowd after making the multiple references to his allegiance to Ohio State. James' presence undoubtedly was a huge coup during arguably the most important recruiting weekend of the year for Meyer, director of player personnel Mark Pantoni, and the entire Ohio State football program.
Of course from during the game, we'll always have Ohio State walk-on Jake Lorbach's epic photobomb of #6.
