Ohio State has shown lots of love to their 2015 prospects throughout the week and that continued on Wednesday with Jaye Miner and John Kelly.
Starting off with Miner, the 6'3" athlete from Wiregrass Ranch High School has impressive size and being listed as 195 pounds makes you wonder if he'd be more apt to play outside linebacker, rather than safety, at the next level. He prefers linebacker and this is what he had to say on the matter:
I would prefer linebacker. I would need to pick up some weight between this season and next season. Right now I'm 195, to play linebacker I would need to be at least 215 lbs next season. I lived in Ohio from Kindergarten-4th grade. IF OSU was to offer me they would be one of my top 5 choices. I got to meet Coach Meyer at the Urban Meyer Camp when he was coaching at Florida. I think very highly of Coach Meyer. Of course being able to learn from Coach Meyer [would] be great. I am a physical player I like to hit.
At this point, we can't say for sure what Miner will play as a collegiate, but we do know that he could be as physically impressive as any player in his class. Miner totaled 53 tackles as a sophomore last year and in his first game as a junior this season, he recorded 18 tackles, three of them coming behind the line of scrimmage. Though he doesn't hold any big time offers at the moment, if Miner continues this kind of production throughout the year, there's no question that he'll blow up on the recruiting trail. The Buckeyes are on him early and, from the looks of things, that's looking like a good move.
Switching to John Kelly, the Oak Park standout has a knack for finding the end zone and is a threat every time he touches the ball. Grabbing a 2015 prospect like Kelly out of Michigan would be huge, as it would be two years in a row Ohio State grabbed one of the best from the state up north—this year grabbing Michigan's top prospect Damon Webb. Michigan State has been the only Big Ten team to offer thus far and the Spartans look to be the early favorite, but it's early in the recruiting process. It's also worth noting that he has visited Michigan twice. Obviously a Buckeye offer has yet to come, but one writer has predicted Ohio State as Kelly's destination for 247Sports' Crystal Ball feature. Kelly shined at running back last Friday night.

Offensive line commit Jamarco Jones, who has been invited to the Under Armour All American Game, had his jersey presented to him on Wednesday.

Jamarco is recovering in an injury and has not yet played during his senior season. We wish for him to continue to get better so that he can show the country what he's all about.
Four-star basketball prospect will be in Columbus on Saturday, but it will be a short lived visit for the 2015 power forward as he will be checking out Xavier on Sunday. Georgetown is out in front for Dickerson at the moment, but a good visit, as we know, can go a long way. Saturday should be poppin' around campus and with a 3:30 start to the football game, expect the energy to be higher than last week. Expect this visit to go well as the Buckeyes attempt to make up some ground.
Staying on the basketball track, Rivals released their new rankings for class of 2014 prospects. Several Buckeye targets and commits were on the move. Our Zach Fleer was all over it – check out his break down of it all.
QUICK HITS:
- 2015 tight end CJ Conrad will be in Columbus on Saturday and attend the game against San Diego State.
- 2015 linebacker Marquise Copeland tells our Charles Doss that he will make a return trip to Columbus for the Wisconsin game.
