With the 2014 recruiting season coming to an end early next month, Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes are already sitting pretty with some elite talent for next year. Earlier this week, numerous class of 2015 prospects announced their top schools, with Ohio State making the cut. New Jersey offensive lineman Steven Gonzalez, and Florida recruits, running back Jacques Patrick and linebacker Jeffrey Holland all came out with shortened lists. Last night another one of the nation's top talents joined them by announcing the Buckeyes are also still in the running to add him to their roster.
Four-star Texas wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge took to Twitter to say that Ohio State, Baylor, Tennessee, Clemson, Texas A&M, Oregon, UCLA, LSU, TCU and Oklahoma are the ten programs he is considering to play his college ball at. The 6'2 190 pound Lodge had a heck of a junior campaign for Cedar Hill High. After only catching six passes for 59 yards as a sophomore, DaMarkus had over 70 receptions for 1,255 yards and 22 touchdowns this past season and was a major reason why the Longhorns finished with a 14-2 overall record and a Class 5A Division II Texas State Title, where he was named game MVP after catching two touchdowns.

SB Nation recruiting writer, Wescott Eberts has had the pleasure of seeing Lodge in action and had the following to say on the Texas standout:
"Not the biggest or the fastest pass catcher around, Lodge has a diverse skill set that includes crisp route running that allows him to get separation out of breaks, wide shoulders and long arms that allow him to screen defensive backs and the hands to catch the ball inside or outside of his frame. Combined with a solid understanding of how to use his hands and feet to beat press coverage, Lodge does a lot of things well for a guy who has yet to see much varsity action."
When it comes to the Bucks, Lodge, the third best wide out and 52nd best overall prospect in the 2015 class, according to the 247Sports Composite, is mainly recruited by and in contact with OSU assistant coach Tom Herman, who even stopped by Cedar Hill High School a few months ago while in Texas recruiting. DaMarkus plans to return the favor in the future, as he has stated on many occasions that Ohio State is one of the programs he would like to visit soon.
