Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets, 1/8 - Ricky DeBerry visit?

The 2015 recruiting process for football is starting to heat up in a big, big way. In-state prospect Larry Wells has started to hear from the Buckeyes and a visit could be on tap for Ricky DeBerry.

With the 2014 class in the process of wrapping up, it's never too late to jump start the class for the following year, in this case 2015. With Eric Glover-Williams and Jamel Dean already on board, Ohio State has turned some focus onto in-state offensive lineman Larry Wells. Not yet ranked by any of the major outlets, Wells is massive, checking in at 6'8, 309 pounds. Though his recruitment hasn't fully taken off yet, Wells currently holds an offer from Akron, and there should be plenty more to coming over the next few months. Tim Hinton and Ed Warinner have been the lead recruiters for Wells and, with a flock of other Big Ten schools coming in, it could be safe to say that Wells could be one of the bigger targets in 2015.

Ricky DeBerry, a 2015 football prospect, has made it apparent that he will be making a visit Columbus sometime soon.

At 6'2, DeBerry is already picking up big-time offers from schools like Florida, Clemson, and Michigan State – among a ton others. With the linebacker position being a weakness on the 2013 team, Urban Meyer has made it a priority to reload that position group. Grabbing a good haul in 2013, and a great haul in the 2014 class, DeBerry prove to be the foundation of his position for the 2015 class. Nonetheless, it's hard to get excited about a kid when he hasn't been on campus yet, but as soon as he steps foot in Ohio, it'll be game on.

If you haven't seen it yet, 2015 target Jordan Whitehead released his junior season highlight film. A four-star prospect with even more room to grow, Whitehead is a shut down cornerback and, with his 6'0 frame, has excellent size and has the potential to be extremely physical at the next level. At the moment, Whitehead is a 100% crystal ball lock to the Buckeyes, but, as we all know, there's plenty of time between now and next year's signing day. The Pennsylvania native also holds offers from Penn State, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, and Michigan and the Nittany Lions appear to be the toughest competition. Whitehead last visited Columbus on the weekend of September 28th.

D'Angelo Russell put on a strong performance at the Cancer Research Classic on Tuesday and further strengthened his argument to why he's one of the most recruited players in the country and considered a five-star shooting guard. The game highlights can be viewed here.
