Ohio State's 2016 class is one bigger.
Just minutes after Ohio State's big win over Rutgers, the 6'4, 210-pound tight end/wide receiver Kierre Hawkins committed to Urban Meyer, Mark Pantoni, and the Buckeyes.
Hawkins' evaluations are scarce at this point, as he's only been evaluated by two of the major services. In that regard he's graded out as a three-star. In the current (admittedly small sample sized) 247Sports Composite rankings for 2016, Hawkins checks in as the 62nd best wide receiver in the class, the 16th best player from the state of Ohio, and the 370th best overall player for next year's recruiting class. Of course, those metrics will look totally different by this time next year.
Hawkins camped at Friday Night Lights and chose the Buckeyes over Illinois, Kentucky, Bowling Green, and Toledo, who were all in on the big wide out early. He joins RB George Hill (Hubbard) and OL Tyler Gerald (Portsmouth) as OSU's early class of 2016.
