Ohio State landed a massive commitment from Cleveland (OH) Benedictine linebacker Jerome Baker Tuesday evening. Baker is one of the top players in the state of Ohio's 2015 class.
Over the last week, Ohio State had gained a lot of momentum in Baker's recruitment. Though previously a Florida commit, the Bucks were heavy favorites to land his commitment for a little over a year early in his process and ultimately pulled through anyways as Florida struggled on the field and the Bucks continued courting him.
Baker currently stands as the fourth best athlete in the 2015 recruiting class, the second best player from the state of Ohio, and the 46th overall ranked player in his graduating class. He's graded as a four-star in the 247Sports composite rankings.
The Cleveland area product announced his commitment on his Twitter account during the bottom of the first inning of the 2014 World Series between the Giants and the Royals:
I am officially flipping my commitment from Florida to THE Ohio State University. Thanks for all your support. pic.twitter.com/WxrvliX74Y— Baker Inc. (@Lastname_Baker) October 22, 2014
Baker joins Cincinnati (OH) St. Xavier linebacker Justin Hilliard and Dublin (OH) Scioto linebacker Nick Conner in the fold for Urban Meyer and Luke Fickell.
