To get things rolling on Thursday, Rivals broke the news that Josh Moore and the Buckeyes parted ways. Moore, a three-star recruit, didn't take long to find a new home, dishing out a verbal pledge to his home-state Kansas Jayhawks.

A cancer survivor, family means a lot to Moore. Living just 30 minutes away from KU, he will have the chance to play closer to home, where his mom and the rest of his kinfolk can watch him play on the college level.

The class of 2015 tight end shocked many OSU fans when he committed to Ohio State while on an unofficial visit during the Friday Night Lights camp this past July. This happened while in-state prospect and Kentucky commit CJ Conrad was in attendance to earn his offer from the staff.

No one likes it when a recruit flips. But with the recent commitment of Lorain standout Rashod Berry, who OSU is bringing in as an athlete that could end up playing on either side of the ball, and with offers out to many of the top tight ends in the 2016 class, Moore's decommitment from the Buckeyes probably won't end up hurting them very much in the long run.

With Josh no longer in the Elite '15, the Buckeyes are back down to 18 verbal commits. Still a few months away from National Signing Day, Urban Meyer and the Buckeye coaching staff now have a handful of spots left to fill out the 2015 class strong.

Buckeyes offer Delance:

If you follow OSU recruiting, you know by now that the staff is always looking for talent along the offensive line. Last night the Bucks offered semi under-the-radar class of 2016 prospect Jean Delance, a 6'5, 270-pound tackle out of North Mesquite High School in Texas.

"I gave Coach Herman a call, and he really explained how he loved my athleticism being a big guy, especially an offensive tackle. He said he liked my speed and hustle, and then gave me the great news," Delance told Land-Grant Holy Land soon after receiving his offer from the OSU offensive coordinator.

Ohio State joins TCU and Texas Tech as the first schools to offer the Lone Star State standout. Only a junior, with plenty of time left to mature his overall game, Jean is awfully excited to receive a chance to play for the Bucks. At the same time, he isn't ready to name a leader or even a short list.

"It's great, and a big offer, and accomplishment, but I'm not sure as of now. I don't have a list yet."

Quick Hits:

  • A day after naming a final five of Ohio State, Alabama, Florida State, Florida, and Texas A&M, class of 2015 running back Jacques Patrick led his Timber Creek (FL) squad to a 28-14 win over Hagerty. In the victory, Patrick finished with 283 yards and scored all four of the Wolves' touchdowns. The four-star prospect will announce his college commitment on Monday.
  • On Saturday, two future Buckeyes will face off against each other. Dre'Mont Jones and Cleveland St. Ignatius will take on Justin Hilliard and St. Xavier in what is a must-win for each school. With the playoffs right around the corner, look for both squads to give it all they have.
  • Speaking of Jones. It looks like the four-star defensive end will walk away with the Week 8 Land-Grant Holy Land Elite '15 MVP. If you haven't already, make sure to vote before the poll shuts down at 12:00 EST.
