Illinois depth chart

Surviving a second half collapse at Penn State before prevailing in double overtime, fans learned quite a bit about this 2014 Ohio State team. The hard-fought 31-24 win kept the Buckeyes' dreams of making the College Football Playoff alive as head coach Urban Meyer and his staff prepare his team to host Illinois on Saturday. The win against Penn State didn't come without costs, however. J.T. Barrett has a sprained knee coming out of the game and has been limited in practice this week leading up to the game.

Despite the injury concerns, Barrett is still listed as the stand alone starter at quarterback. While Meyer didn't give any mention in his press conference about the possibility of Cardale Jones seeing increased playing time, the latest depth chart has no changes at quarterback, meaning the Buckeyes are going full speed ahead with Barrett under center this Saturday -- at least for now.

Meanwhile, with the departure of Rod Smith from the program earlier this week, the depth chart now reflects Curtis Samuel as the primary backup to starting running back Ezekiel Elliott, while Warren Ball returns to the the depth chart as the third running back listed this week. There also isn't an "OR" after Elliott's name, which could mean Elliott is the featured back and we'll be seeing less of a stable-type of a approach to the running game.

Also, despite some curious internet rumors, Dontre Wilson is still very much the starter at H-back with Jalin Marshall still listed under Wilson as "OR" and Noah Brown as the third man up.
