Ohio State received its letter of intent today from point guard A.J. Harris. Harris is a 5'9' and 160 pound point guard from Dunbar High School in Dayton, Ohio. Harris first pledged his allegiance to the Buckeyes back in August of 2013, turning down offers from Xavier, Boston College, Dayton, and others. Thought to be one of the top Ohio prospects in this class, Harris brings a pass-first mentality and a seemingly endless motor.
Harris is at his best when he is creating for his teammates either in the half court or in transition. He is an absolute wizard with the ball and has an array of moves reminiscent of an AND1 mixtape. Harris has proven to be a leader on the court running the offenses for both Dunbar and his highly talented AAU squad, the King James Shooting Stars.
The most apparent weakness in Harris's game is his size. At only 5'9' he is likely to be on the wrong side of a defensive mismatch near the basket. However, Harris has active hands and is incredibly quick, allowing him to stay in front of opposing players while on defense. Harris's prodigious handle and superior court vision are going to allow him to have an early impact on the team and become one of Ohio State's next great point guards.
