Thad Matta's never lost a season-opener as a head coach and looks to improve upon his 10-0 OSU mark tonight as the Ohio State Buckeyes tipoff the 2014-15 season against UMass-Lowell at Value City Arena.

Matta's Buckeyes more than looked the part of their No. 20 preseason Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 rankings in a 40-point exhibition victory over Walsh this past Sunday. Leading the way was five-star freshman D'Angelo Russell, who have Ohio State Buckeyes thinking back to Mike Conley in terms of impact one-and-done guards who's time in Columbus feels way too brief.

The Buckeyes started a starting five of senior forward Amir Williams, sophomore forward Marc Loving, senior forward Sam Thompson, Russell, and senior point guard Shannon Scott in their preseason tune up. Even with tonight's announced the same, expect Thad Matta and co. to experiment with different groups to maximize efficiency as they head into Tuesday's relatively bigger game against Marquette.
