Land-Grant Holy Land's learned that Ohio State will once again be featured in Nike's 2014 winter themed advertising campaign this coming season. You can watch this year's ad above.
Unlike last winter's, which featured the Buckeyes and Michigan State do battle in a snowy Ohio Stadium as Urban Meyer sang "Winter Wonderland", this year's advertising campaign centers more on levity.
Featured prominently in the campaign is Family Tree, GIRLS, and Bridesmaids' Chris O'Dowd and focuses more on hyperbole and jokes than the serious nature of the previous season's ad.
The Buckeyes are featured just twice (and briefly at that), though given when the advertisement was shot, one has to wonder if their was some clairvoyance at work as it all but forecasts the kind of conditions the Buckeyes played in Saturday at the Minnesota Golden Gophers' TCF Bank Stadium.
Of course the one thing Buckeyes' fans are probably wondering is his how this will impact the 2014 edition of the team. After the Buckeyes appeared in last year's ad, Ohio State promptly went into the tank and lost their final two games of the year. Will this year's team face a similar fate?
The good news is that Meyer is nowhere to be seen in this one, and like last year's, these are just actors donning the scarlet and gray. Can the Bucks get off the Nike winter ad campaign schneid? Wait and see.
