The Buckeyes welcome a return visit from Marquette, the first (no disrespect to UMass Lowell) opponent on Ohio State's 2014-15 slate with a pulse, on one of college basketball's busiest days of action of the fall no less. Thad Matta's Buckeyes cruised to a 40-point win in their series opener, and look to build on that heading into game two.
Where as the River Hawks were ranked near the bottom of the entire country in KenPom (now 347 of 351), Marquette becomes the Buckeyes' first Top 100 opponent, checking in at No. 82 in the go-to college hoops rankings.
We know D'Angelo Russell is special. We know we better appreciate him while we can. But can Russell keep OSU's undefeated season alive while also helping Sam Thompson and co. continue to get the team ready for the rigors of week-in week-out play in the toughest conference in all of college basketball?
