It has all of the ingredients to be the noonest noon game that's ever noon gamed. Ohio State hosts what projects to be a throughly overmatched Big Ten opponent, the Indiana Hoosiers, who have already been eliminated from postseason play. Ice storms and traffic jams across Columbus threaten to put a damper on attendance today, and the Buckeyes are hosting a certain college football program from that state up north next week. Will there be a letdown?
If Indiana's electric running back Tevin Coleman has anything to say about it, maybe? Coleman has been outstanding this season, even if the rest of Indiana's team has been injured or ineffective. After letting Jeremy Langford and David Cobb have some success running the ball, look for the Buckeyes to be keyed up to stop Coleman to prove that their rush defense has improved, especially since there should be no secret about who is getting the ball for the Hoosiers.
The Buckeyes will want to come out and make a statement, for the rest of the Big Ten, for the the playoff selection committee, and for themselves. Can J.T. Barrett continue to rewrite the record books today? Can Ezekiel Elliot become Urban Meyer's second 1,000 yard running back? Can Jalin Marshall rebound from his up and down performance last week?
You'll only know if you watch, and that's always more fun with friends. Come join us in the GameThread.
