Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets, 11/26 - Buckeyes offer Emmanuel Greene, make top 5 for Michael Menet

Ohio State sent out an offer to Emmanuel Greene. Do the Buckeyes have a chance? Plus, the Buckeyes make the top five for a tough-to-get prospect.

A new offer went out on Tuesday and it was to Florida native Emmanuel Greene. Greene, a class of 2017 prospect, has also accumulated offers from Clemson, Miami, and Tennessee in the early part of his recruiting process. Though he's small in stature right now, at 5'9 and 160 pounds, Greene already possesses elite speed with a 40-yard dash time of 4.40--the kid can absolutely fly. There's little doubt that he will get taller and put on more weight throughout the rest of his high school career. As of right now, Greene looks to be a wide receiver all the way at the next level and it's scary to think what his kind of speed would bring to the Ohio State offensive system. It'll be a tough pull in order to take Greene away from the southern schools, but it's good to see that the Buckeyes have jumped on him early. This one will be worth keeping an eye on in the future and the next thing to look for is if he decides to visit sometime this year or even camp over summer. If he does, then look for Ohio State to emerge as a true contender for his services.

Bucks make Menet's top five:

2016 offensive lineman Michael Menet released his top five on Tuesday and the list included Ohio State. Menet is currently rated as a four-star prospect and the number one player in the state of Pennsylvania for his class. Menet stands at 6'5, but only weighs 250 pounds. However, with his current frame there is plenty of room for growth and there's no doubt that he'll be able to put it on once he arrives on a college campus. He has already visited Columbus this season so the genuine interest is there, it's just a matter of if Urban Meyer can get him on campus once again this coming summer. Right now, Menet is a 100% crystal ball lock to Penn State so the work is cut out for this Ohio State staff. There's time, but the Buckeyes should get moving on this one over the next couple of months.

Eason to visit for The Game:

Will Eason, a 2016 athlete, will visit Ohio State for this weekend's Michigan game. Eason, from North Carolina, is an offensive weapon and is the teammate of Robert Washington--a running back who will also visit OSU over the weekend.

It's unknown whether the two would be a package deal, but the fact that Ohio State is showing interest in Eason could bode well in landing Washington. Eason has just one offer at the moment, but things will without a doubt change before his high school career is over.
