Per Ohio State, redshirt freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett is out for the season. He'll have surgery tomorrow on a right ankle fracture.
For the Buckeyes, the time is now for Cardale Jones. While he infamously didn't come to play school, he'll have to be at the height of his powers on the field in a hurry as the Buckeyes head to Indianapolis next weekend to take on the winner of this afternoon's Minnesota/Wisconsin game.
In the quarter he took over for Barrett, Jones was 2-for-3 for 7 yards. He also carried the ball twice for 18 yards and helped direct the drive that put the game away for the Buckeyes. On the season, Jones is 8-for-14 for 111 yards and 2 TDs through the air. He also has 24 carries for 188 yards. You can expect to see some of h-back Jalin Marshall, a high school quarterback, under center in certain situations as well.
