The next great Ohio State quarterback, or at the very least, the next great Buckeye athlete, could very well be Torrance Gibson, a four-star quarterback out of American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Gibson will be announcing his college choice today at 1 p.m. ET at his high school, and Ohio State is the expected pick. LSU, Miami and UCF were amongst the other schools on his short list at one point. The highly regarded Gibson received offers from virtually every major college football program in the country.
Where Gibson will ultimately play in college is a bit of an open question, as many recruiting analysts, as well as some coaching staffs, believe that he projects better as a wide receiver than a quarterback.
Should Gibson pick Ohio State, the Buckeyes are likely to give him at least a shot at the position, something that gives them an edge over other schools during the recruiting process. Gibson's size, speed and athleticism could make him an exciting fit in an Urban Meyer offense.
