Ohio State's win over Michigan State means impromptu Mirror Lake jump

Do you, students.

As it tradition on the Tuesday (formerly Thursday before the game was moved back to Thanksgiving Satruday) the week of the Michigan game, Ohio State students jump into a small, fairly shallow man made lake near the middle of the campus of The Ohio State University.

"Liquid coats" are typically rather en vogue, if you participate, your sandals wind up getting lost/stolen, and if you're lucky, you manage to avoid getting a nasty cold afterwards until finals are over. Hangovers on the other hand...

Though a few Mirror Lake jumps have happened in times other than that specifically designated day (last season students did a protest jump when news broke that the festivities were going to be heavily regulated and require not just a university issued wrist band but massive police presence), the last really big one was followed the news of the death of terrorist Osama Bin Laden.

Late Saturday/early Sunday, in the aftermath of Ohio State's biggest football win since perhaps Michigan in 2006, a number of students took to the lake to take the frigid plunge. With temperatures in the low 40s, Buckeye students did what they did best and sang "We Don't Give a Damn for the Whole State of Michigan" while trying to avoid a trip to Ohio State Medical Center.

Here were a few of the first hand accounts:

And though there was an urban legend going around that someone had dumped/driven a Car2Go into the lake, that appears to have been nothing more than a game of telephone gone wrong in the internet age:

To be young again.
