When talking about recruiting, Christmas came early for Ohio State this year as the Buckeyes have done a nice job filling just about every spot for the class of 2015. As we sit today on Christmas Eve, there are a couple more presents that Urban Meyer could be unwrapping between now and National Signing Day. One of those is a long-time Ohio Stat target Juwuan Briscoe.
Briscoe sets decision date
On Tuesday, Briscoe tweeted that he will be making his decision on January 1. At this point, it seems as if Briscoe's mind is made up and all of the national media can just speculate at this point. The Buckeyes have surged near the top of his list over the past couple of months and are well positioned to grab the Maryland cornerback. Briscoe stands at exactly 6-foot and fits the bill over football coaches going to "bigger" corner backs as the game continues to evolve. He has elite athleticism and could be the biggest sleeper out of all the prospects in this class. He has great speed and it could turn him into a viable option in the return game on special teams. Right now, it looks like the two schools in the best position are Ohio State and Georgia. Georgia has a slew of already-committed defensive backs in their current class and that could be a factor for Briscoe's decision. I like Ohio State's chances in this one and I think the coaching staff does as well. If you haven't seen it yet, you can check out some of Briscoe's senior film here. Go ahead and watch it 10 times between now and Jan. 1.

Buckeyes still in on Wilkins
The Buckeyes started to address their depth issues at defensive tackle when Ohio native Robert Landers committed just last week. Landers is a fine player who could become special at the next level. However, Ohio State isn't stopping with him. Urban Meyer has been chasing another top prospect in Christian Wilkins. Wilkins, at 6'4, 290 pounds, has everything that you would want in a defensive tackle. Check out some of his senior highlights here, in a Scout.com spotlight feature.
- Jashon Cornell is already looking forward to playing with one of his future teammates.
The game will be on January 2 at 4 p.m. Eastern time. Though Eric Glover-Williams is electric on the offensive side of the ball, this may not be the last time we see them both playing defense together.
