Ohio State makes first ever College Football Playoff, will face Alabama

After week two of this year's season, Ohio State was given up for dead. After a disheartening loss to Virginia Tech that only looked worse as the season went along, and with the Big Ten struggling in out of conference games, most experts thought Ohio State had no chance of making the first College Football Playoff.

But a funny thing happened. Ohio State got better. They kept winning. And thanks to a 59-0 complete destruction of Wisconsin last night in the Big Ten Championship Game, Ohio State finds themselves in the playoff after all. The 12-1 Buckeyes are in.

Ohio State's playoff candidacy was aided by two blowout wins of the Big Ten's other two best squads, both away from home, along with a superior non-conference schedule to TCU and Baylor, their undisputed conference championship, and another quality win at Minnesota, in the snow and cold. Despite losing J.T. Barrett to a season ending injury, Ohio State's offense trucked along under Cardale Jones, Ohio State's third QB.

Congrats to Ohio State on their playoff bid and their excellent season so far. But the season isn't over yet.
