While the majority of the focus is now on the class of 2015 and beyond, there is still plenty of activity taking place in attempts to sign '14 DE Malik McDowell from Ohio State. In fact, reports surfaced on Monday that McDowell could potentially take visits to Ohio State and Florida State. Meanwhile, McDowell's high school coach tried to help shed some light on the situation:
"I don't think the visits are set," Conley said. "I think it's something his dad is wishing for, but Malik hasn't said anything but MSU."
Whether or not the Buckeyes and Seminoles will land a visit remains to be seen, but there's certainly plenty left to wonder about how McDowell feels about Michigan State. Without a signed letter of intent, McDowell remains in limbo as multiple schools are awaiting word on what he will decide. Whenever he does pick his school for good (he has until April 1st), Land-Grant Holy Land will have the latest updates.

Ohio State offered '15 CB (and current Florida State commit) Tyrek Cole on Monday after talking with Buckeyes assistant coach Zach Smith. Cole is one of the top prospects in the class of 2015 and is ranked as the 5th-best cornerback in the country as well as the 11th-best prospect overall in the state of Florida. The 5'10, 170-pound defensive back recorded 48 tackles, 2 interceptions and 12 pass breakups during the 2013 season.
'15 LB/DE Ricky DeBerry tells me he will no longer be visiting #OhioState this weekend because Urban Meyer won't be in town.

'15 LB/DE Ricky DeBerry told LGHL's own Miles Joseph that he is canceling his visit to Columbus this weekend due to Urban Meyer not being in town for it. No need to worry, however, as DeBerry also told Miles that he plans on rescheduling his visit for another weekend in the future. The 6'2, 240-pound hybrid already holds an offer from the Buckeyes and has been in contact for quite some time. DeBerry is ranked as the 4th-best outside linebacker in the country and the 4th-best prospect overall in the state of Virginia.
heard from UNC, Ohio State, and Virginia today 🏀

In some basketball news, the Ohio State basketball coaching staff was in contact with '15 shooting guard Austin Grandstaff from the state of Texas. The 6'5, 165-pound shooting guard had previously been committed to Oklahoma State, but recently decommitted on February 6th. While Grandstaff doesn't hold an offer from the Buckeyes, it's clear that Thad Matta and his staff see some potential in the guard and will most likely be taking some more looks now that he's not tied down to the Cowboys.
The 4-star recruit is also ranked as the 4th-best shooting guard in the nation, while at the same time being ranked as the 6th-best overall prospect in the Lone Star State.
