Two straight wins have Thad Matta and Ohio State (21-6, 8-6 Big Ten) at 5-1 in their past six games this season, with their most recent win coming against the Northwestern Wildcats 76-60. The Buckeyes have started to step up the offensive side of the ball, and the hope is that the recent string of success will lead to a run that could set things up nicely for the NCAA tournament.
Now Ohio State will play host to the Minnesota Golden Gophers (17-10, 6-8) who the Buckeyes lost to in their previous game against each other 63-53. The Gophers, however, are coming off of a disappointing loss to Illinois, who the Buckeyes beat just two games ago.
With the momentum in Ohio State's favor, the Buckeyes look for their third straight win and prepare for their three final regular season games against Penn State, Indiana, and Michigan State.
