True to their previous meetings during the season, Purdue hung tight with Ohio State throughout the first half, and charged back after the Buckeyes held a seven point lead to pull within three, 30-27.
Purdue jumped to a 7-1 lead, but the Buckeyes rallied to take an 11-9 lead, on the strength of tough interior defense and attacking the basket.
Both teams struggled shooting the ball in the early going. Purdue shot 5-13 with three turnovers, while Ohio State shot 6-17 over the first ten minutes. Those shooting performances did not improve over the rest of the half, as the teams would combine to shoot 1-12 from downtown.
Ohio State's struggles from the free throw line continued, after they nearly ruined their chances against Michigan State. The Buckeyes only shot 7-13 from the stripe, and had six turnovers, to Purdue's four. The Buckeyes did completely dominate the glass though, boasting a 27-12 advantage.
Aaron Craft is your leading scorer with eight points. Lenzelle Smith has six, and LaQuinon Ross has six points and eight rebounds. Ronnie Johnson leads Purdue with six points.
