Just four months after rumors circled that Ohio State athletic department alum turned Florida Atlantic University athletic director Patrick Chung offered OSU defensive coordinator Luke Fickell that school's head football coaching job, a report came to light Friday night that the Owls were centering their basketball coaching search on Buckeyes basketball assistant, Dave Dickerson. According to CBSSports.com's Gary Parrish, OSU assistant Greg Paulus has also been considered by Chun.

Prior to joining Ohio State as the associate head coach for Thad Matta, Dickerson was a head coach at Tulane. At a school without an awful lot of recent basketball success, Dickerson managed but two winning seasons in his five years in New Orleans. From 2006-2008, the Green Wave won 34 games.

It'd been previously reported that Chun was interested in someone with prior head coaching experience, and that would in part explain his interest in Dickerson. It remains to be seen whether or not Dickerson will pursue a second opportunity as a head coach, but the possibility is becoming more real that the Buckeyes might just have some fresh blood on the bench next season.
