Ohio State athletics

In a match against No. 28 Northwestern Friday evening at the Buckeyes' Varsity Tennis Center, the Ohio State men's tennis team won its NCAA record 185th consecutive home match. The Buckeyes' Peter Kobelt, one of OSU's better on the team, secured the record clinching set for the Buckeyes ,who won 4-2 overall. The win marked Kobelt's 21st personal of the season.

A week ago, the Buckeyes' 6-1 win against arch rivals Michigan tied the Stanford women's tennis team for the best mark in any Division 1 intercollegiate sport.

The men's tennis team moves to a 20-2 overall record this season. Next up for the team is a Sunday afternoon engagement with conference rival (and No. 10) Illinois. All that's left for the Buckeyes at this point is to pad the record, no?

Go Bucks.
