There's plenty at stake today as Ohio State (22-8, 9-8 Big Ten) hosts Michigan State (23-7, 12-5) in the Buckeyes regular season finale. The Buckeyes hope to secure a higher seed in the Big Ten tournament, while the Spartans try to gain the No. 2 seed with a victory today.
Both teams have struggled down the stretch of their final regular season games, but hope to gain momentum heading into the Big Ten and NCAA Tournament. After Iowa lost to Illinois earlier today, the Buckeyes can get as high as the fourth seed in the Big Ten tournament, but only if Wisconsin beats Nebraska later this evening and Ohio State defeats Michigan State. If the Buckeyes lose or Nebraska wins, Thad Matta and his team will be slotted into no worse than the No. 5 seed.
After a disappointing setback to Indiana last week, the Buckeyes hope to bounce back in a big way against a team that beat Ohio State earlier this season in a game that went into overtime. LaQuinton Ross, Ohio State's leading scorer, will lead the charge in what should be a great contest.
