Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets, 4/2 - Ruben Flowers talks visit, Jaylon Lane offered

See what 2016 Lima Senior wide out Ruben Flowers had to say about his Saturday visit to OSU, which 2015 commit will visit for the spring game and how D'Angelo Russell looked at the last McDonald's All-American Game practice, plus more.

Lima Senior wide out Ruben Flowers had a good time during his Saturday visit to OSU.

You might have already known about Urban Meyer and the football program hosting recruits such as David Robbins, Chris Green, Jabari Greenwood, Darius Fullwood and Tyler Gerald on Saturday, but another visitor might have slipped through the cracks.

After being invited by OSU tight end coach,Tim Hinton, class of 2016 wide receiver Ruben Flowers, of Lima Senior, also made the trip to Columbus for the Buckeyes spring practice. "It was a great visit." The 6'4 180-pound sophomore told Land-Grant Holy Land of his quick stop to the Capital City. "I was impressed with the intensity of the players at practice. Lots of speed. I met with some coaches but, I had to get back for track practice."

Flowers, a tall and speedy wide out, was named Special Mention All-Ohio after catching 62 passes for 826 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. Even after his impressive campaign, Ruben has yet to receive his first scholarship offer, but is gaining plenty of interest from most of the Mid American Conference, and Big Ten foes Illinois and Michigan.

Though Ruben is gaining attention from numerous programs, it's his home state Buckeyes, that are currently catching his eye. "I have always been an Ohio State fan." Flowers said. "I am excited they are showing interest."

This might not be Flowers', who is also a standout on the Lima Senior basketball team, last time on the OSU campus over the coming months. Depending on what his busy AAU hoops and track schedule throws at him, he could very well be at one of the summer camps at Ohio State later this year.

With tons of time before his recruitment ends, Flowers should be a name for all Buckeye fans to keep an eye out for. In the mean time, check out Ruben's Hudl page for highlights of him from this past season.

Megginson enjoys Tuesday visit:

Class of 2015 offensive lineman Gabe Megginson is no stranger to campus visits. After recently checking out Nebraska, Missouri and Wisconsin, Megginson, a Jacksonville, Illinois native, finally made it back to Ohio State after attending the now annual Friday Night Lights last summer.

Our Miles Joseph caught up with the four star standout, and had him break down his trip to OSU.

"I got to see everything. The city, the facilities; I mean everything. It was great. I spent a lot of time with (Mark) Pantoni, (Ed) Warinner, (Chris) Ash, and (Urban) Meyer. They praise the place so much. You can tell they love being there. They're really passionate and they're great to talk with."

The visits aren't over for the 6'5 Megginson, as he plans to be on the Penn State campus later today and will also make a stop at North Carolina State on Thursday, before heading back home to Illinois.

Buckeyes offer 2015 DB:

Last night Texas defensive back Jaylon Lane took to his Twitter page to announce that OSU is the latest program to send him an offer. One of the hottest prospects in the country over the last couple weeks, the Buckeyes join the likes of Louisville, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, LSU, Texas A&M and Syracuse in offering the 6'1 185 pound standout since he de-committed from Ole Miss last month.

Over the last two seasons at Nacogdoches, Lane has racked up nearly 100 tackles from his cornerback position and nine interceptions (returning two for scores), while also being a complete threat in the return game, every time he touches the ball.

Commit to visit OSU, Auburn:

At what shouldn't come to much of a surprise since he previously stated that he would check out other programs, class of 2015 commit Ben Edwards tells Land-Grant Holy Land that he will visit Auburn on April 18th for their spring game and also has plans to visit North Carolina sometime later this spring or summer.

Now to the good news. Edwards stated before those trips take place, he will make a return visit to Columbus for the Buckeyes April 12th spring game at Ohio Stadium.

Sort of shocking the world when he committed to OSU back in February, the 6'0 200 pound, Jacksonville, Florida native, Edwards, upcoming visit to campus will give him not just another opportunity to bond with the coaching staff but also his potential teammates.

Russell shines at McDonald's All-American Game practice:

In their last practice session before today's McDonald's All-American Game, plenty of prospects shined on the court, with Ohio State commit D'Angelo Russell just happening to be one of them:

Suiting up for the East squad, Russell, Myles Turner, and the rest of their teammates take on Jahlil Okafor, Joel Berry and the West team tonight at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Russell isn't the only Buckeye in the McDonald's event, as OSU women's signee; Kelsey Mitchell will be playing for the East in the girls game at 7:00 on ESPNU.
