Ohio State's Bradley Roby, Ryan Shazier invited to 2014 NFL Draft

Two prominent former Buckeyes are expected to be in attendance when the 2014 NFL Draft kicks off in New York City.

The NFL announced its list of 2014 NFL Draft invitees Tuesday evening. Amongst expected to make the trek to Radio City Music Hall in New York City Thursday, May 8 will be former Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby and linebacker Ryan Shazier.

Joining Roby and Shazier in NYC will be Minnesota defensive tackle Ra'Shede Hageman and despite recently being charged with one count of aggravated assault and two counts of assault or assault and battery (stemming from an incident on Dec. 1, 2013), former Michigan tackle Taylor Lewan. The draft, which is in the fifth year of a three-day format where the first round takes place Thursday night, the second and third rounds Friday night, and the remaining four rounds Saturday, kicks off the latest calendar-wise it has in many years this season.

Typically those invited to New York City are done so after a consensus amongst NFL front office executives agrees that they're likely to be selected in the first round. SB Nation's latest 2014 NFL Mock Draft has Roby landing with Jim Harbaugh and the San Francsico 49ers with the 30th overall pick and Shazier being selected by the AFC champion Denver Broncos one pick later.
