Despite rumors of OSU-Pitt, Ohio State will head to Louisville this coming fall for the annual ACC-Big Ten Challenge (or Big Ten-ACC Challenge as it's called in alternating years. Last season the Buckeyes played host to (soon-to-be) Big Ten conference mates, Maryland, in a game the Buckeyes won, 76-60.
Louisville, who enters their first season in the ACC, will appropriately play their first ever game in the challenge playing host to the Buckeyes. The former The American side, 31-6 (and #1 in KenPom) a season ago, ultimately lost in the Sweet 16 against ultimate national runner up (and arch rivals), Kentucky. The Cardinals are expected to be a strong contender once against in 2014-15.
For the Buckeyes, Rick Pitino's team join North Carolina and Marquette as some of the more prominent non-conference matchups for the 2014-15 season. After being criticized for a relatively paltry non-conference slate a season prior, with a revitalized scoring presence, OSU will need all the quality wins they can get as they look to bounce back from a year that many would classify as a disappointment.
