Though many had pegged his most likely destination to be West Virginia (where he was once committed before ultimately signing with the Buckeyes) or in-conference Wisconsin, which though unlikely at face value, per all reports seemed in the mix, former Ohio State safety Jayme Thompson's next stop will apparently be at Iowa Western.
As first reported by Husker Illustrated's Michael Bruntz, the member of OSU's 2013 recruiting class will move on to Iowa Western Community College this coming fall. Thompson, who hails from Toledo's Central Catholic, redshirted this past season after enrolling early and playing in last season's OSU spring game in Cincinnati.
Thompson will lose a year of eligibility playing at the JUCO ranks but will still have three years of eligibility and be able to take the field immediately upon transfer back to the FBS (or FCS) rank after this coming season in Council Bluffs, IA. We'll have more as it's made available.
