Ohio State has picked up their ninth commitment in the class of 2015. '15 CB Denzel Ward pulled the trigger on a verbal pledge to the Buckeyes after receiving an offer from the coaching staff this afternoon. His offer and commitment were both first reported by Scout's Bill Greene.

The 5'11, 165-pound cornerback from Nordonia (OH) chose the Buckeyes over offers from Akron, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Ohio, Rutgers, Syracuse and Washington State. Ward picked up the offer after an impressive performance at Ohio State's one day camp on Thursday and he committed on the spot.

Ward is a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings. The under-the-radar talent currently sits as the 30th best player in the state of Ohio. The speedy Ward is also ranked as the 50th best player at his position and the 653rd player in the country. According to his Hudl profile, the newest Buckeye has an amazing 40-yard dash time of 4.31.

With the addition of Ward, Ohio State now has six committed prospects in the 2015 class from the state of Ohio. Also, with this latest verbal, the Buckeyes have now received their fifth commitment in the month of June and the third commit in as many days.
