Ohio State has hosted many important visitors over the past couple of weeks as recruits have been flocking to Columbus for the Buckeyes' June football camps.

Today was no different as many top recruits were on campus to participate in the camp or to see what Ohio State had to offer.

One of the top guys on campus was Huntersville (NC) Southlake Christian Academy running back Robert Washington, who is one of the top players in the 2016 recruiting class. He had a chance to talk to the Ohio State coaches on his second trip to Columbus.

"Just getting back to talk to Coach (Stan) Drayton and Coach (Urban) Meyer again," Washington said. "I got the chance to get a feel for how coach Drayton coaches and I got to talk to one of their senior running backs (Rod Smith)."

He even got the opportunity to talk to head coach Urban Meyer, who is a big fan of Washington's game.

"He just said I love you're film and love the way you play. He said you're quick, fast, big, and fit the offense," he stated. "He didn't try to pressure me into (committing), but he told Coach Drayton that he really wants me as the running back in 2016 and had Coach Drayton handle everything."

The standout running back is in the process of building a strong relationship with the Ohio State head coach.

"The first time I met Urban Meyer on my first visit up here, he just dropped into the office and my mouth dropped," Washington admitted. "He's Urban Meyer, one of the greatest college coaches who has ever lived, so I was like 'Wow I was talking to Urban Meyer' it hits you when you leave. It's fun being recruited by him."

While he's not ready to name any favorites, the Buckeyes are high on Washington's list.

"I'm coming out with a top 15 in August and Ohio State has a very strong chance of making it," he continued. "I don't want to give anything away yet, but I have a good relationship with Coach Drayton and Coach Meyer."

Some have compared him to former Ohio State running back Carlos Hyde.

"When I came up here the first time they said I was going to be at least 230, 240 like Carlos (Hyde) and I could tote the rock like Carlos," he said. "Hopefully (I can be like Hyde), that's a great guy to be compared to and hopefully I can play like him one day."

When asked what he likes about Ohio State, Washington had a simple answer.

"It's just really the people," he responded. "Every school has great facilties, a great campus, and big stadiums. It's really the people that makes a school stand out. I love Coach Drayton and Coach Meyer and the players are fun to be around."

Washington would like to make his college decision about a year from now.

"Probably around this time next summer," he said when asked when he was going to make his college decision.

In addition to Ohio State, a few other schools have impressed Washington.

"I went to Tennessee, they stood out, I went to North Carolina and they stood out," he admitted. "I've been to Notre Dame four times and they've stood out. I also went to Vanderbilt and they stood out."

Washington doesn't have any future visits planned as of today.
