The biggest news from Wednesday was Ohio State getting a visit from one of the nations best players, '15 DE Josh Sweat. The nation's second-ranked player in the country, the best defensive end and the best player from the state of Virginia was in Columbus yesterday. This was the first visit to Columbus for the five star from Oscar Smith (VA). Sweat was on campus for about six hours.
Along with Sweat, Ohio State hosted '15 OT Mirko Jurkovic on an unofficial visit to the Columbus campus. The 6'5, 275-pounder from IMG Academy (FL) currently holds offers from Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Nebraska, South Carolina and more. The father of the three star prospect was an All-American lineman at Notre Dame. Jurkovic ended the visit by receiving an offer from the Buckeyes. 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong tweeted that the offer from Ohio State quickly moved them into the top three for Jurkovic. You can check out Jurkovic in action here.

Jurkovic wasn't the only one to receive an offer on Wednesday though. The Buckeyes also rewarded '16 CB Chauncey Gardner, a current Florida commit, with a scholarship opportunity. Gardner has offers from Miami (FL), Ohio State, Pittsburgh, South Florida and Temple. The former Miami Hurricane commit flipped to Florida just 12 days ago after receiving an offer. Gardner is a four star prospect in the 2016 recruiting class. The Cocoa (FL) talent is ranked as the 15th best CB in the country and the 18th best player in the state of Florida. Gardner attends the same high school as '15 CB Jamel Dean, an Ohio State commit. Highlights of Gardner can be seen here.
'15 DE Josh Alabi of Cass Tech (MI) released his top five schools on Twitter last night. The Buckeyes made the list for the three star as well as Miami (FL), Michigan State, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Alabi is the 550th ranked player in the 2015 class according the 247Sports Composite scale. The Detroit native is also ranked as the 8th best player in the state of Michigan. As of now, Alabi is predicted to wind up in East Lansing and play for the Michigan State Spartans.

With the famous Friday Night Lights football camp just about a month away, many names will start popping up as ones who plan on attending the camp. According to 247Sports' Bill Kurelic, '15 OL/DL Michael Onwenu will be one of those players who will be participating. The Buckeyes were the first team to give an offer to the Cass Tech (MI) prospect. Since receiving an offer from Ohio State, Onwenu has picked up offers from Illinois, Miami (FL) and North Carolina State. The 6'2, 310-pounder comes in at 205th in his class and 5th in the state of Michigan.
