Friday Night Lights, the now annual camp put on by the Ohio State football program, is coming up right around the corner. On July 25, dozens of the top prospects in the country will make their way to Columbus to compete against each other in a number of different drills in front of not just Urban Meyer, Tom Herman, Chris Ash, and the rest of the Buckeye coaching staff, but also thousands of screaming OSU fans.
One class of 2016 standout hoping to impress the Buckeyes coaches during camp later this month is running back Tre Harbison, of Crest Senior High School in Shelby, NC.
"Coach Ash told me about the camp, and they sent me a brochure of the camp." Harbison told Land-Grant Holy Land. "I'm excited to meet the coaches and compete, and hopefully catch the eye of the coaches."
Tre, nearly led his squad to a state championship last season. The 5'11 210 pounder rushed the ball 198 times for over 1,600 yards and 23 touchdowns as a sophomore for Crest, who finished the year with an overall record of 14-2.
In-state programs North Carolina, and North Carolina State have already offered the Scout.com three-star prospect a scholarship, while many others are showing quite a bit of interest. Even though the contact between Harbison, and the Buckeyes is rather new, he hopes to prove he is worthy of a scholarship on the 25th.
"It would mean a lot to me if Ohio State offered. I've been following Ohio State for a while. When I think of Ohio State I think football, and winning. Just a very rich tradition." Tre said. "If they were to offer they would be in my top level of interest. Ohio State, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Nebraska are some of the schools that sticking out, but Ohio State has a lot of my interest."
