Ohio State recruiting: Who could be next for 2015?

We take a look at some of the players who could be on commitment watch.

247Sports

It's been nearly three weeks since the Buckeyes added a commitment for their 2015 class, when Justin Hilliard and Jashon Cornell pledged to Ohio State on July 2.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the Buckeyes picked up another commitment before the month of July comes to a close. Let's take a look at a few of the possibilities:

RB Damien Harris

I think Harris could announce his decision anytime in between today and December, to be honest. His original plan was to wait until National Signing Day, but his timetable has moved up. I could definitely see him deciding later this month or sometime in early August.

If he announces before the football season, I would be pretty surprised if it wasn't for Ohio State. Kentucky might be running second in his recruitment, but I believe they'll need to have some success on the football field this fall to have a chance at landing the star running back.

WR Van Jefferson

After wrapping up a visit to Columbus late last week, it appears the standout receiver is on the verge of making his college decision. I think this will come down to Ohio State, Tennessee, and Georgia.

I could definitely see this going in the favor of the Vols, but right now I have him pegged to Ohio State. This could change as I do more digging over the next couple of days, however. Expect him to announce his decision anytime before school starts next month.

OL James Daniels

I think Daniels will announce his decision sometime in the next couple of weeks between Ohio State and Iowa. He's likely to be a center or guard at the college level.

While I wouldn't be surprised if he chose the Buckeyes, his recruitment has started to trend towards Iowa, where his older brother plays. Don't be shocked if ends up committing to Ohio State, but Iowa is my pick for him as things currently stand.

WR Lawrence Cager

The 6'5 wide receiver is set to work out at Ohio State's Friday Night Lights camp this coming Friday. He has been on fire recently on the camp circuit, and could very well earn an offer from the Scarlet and Gray with a good showing in front of the coaching staff.

If he does earn the offer, I think the Buckeyes would be the team to beat in his recruitment and wouldn't be surprised he if accepted the offer quickly. I would keep a close eye on this name over the next week or so. He could fill a need the Bucks need on the outside.

OL Matthew Burrell

I could definitely see Burrell waiting until the end up the recruiting cycle to announce his decision, but wouldn't be surprised if he announced before the season starts or shortly after.

From everything I've heard, I think Ohio State is the clear team to be in his recruitment.

More names will emerge over the coming days, weeks, and months and we'll try to update this list accordingly.
