Ohio State has 6th best odds to win 2014 national championship

The latest odds have given Ohio State the sixth best odds to win the 2014 national championship.

New odds from Bovada have come out for teams that have a chance at competing and winning the 2014 national championship under the new college football playoff format. Heading the top of the list, Alabama and Florida State stand as co-favorites to win it all next season with 11/2 odds. Ohio State currently sits at 12/1 odds to win it all, moving them down to sixth place (the Buckeyes had 10/1 odds back in January and were higher up in the rankings).

The top 10 in all is Alabama and Florida State sharing the lead, followed by Oregon (7/1 odds), Oklahoma (9/1), Auburn (10/1), Ohio State (12/1), UCLA (14/1), Georgia (18/1), LSU (20/1), and Michigan State (25/1). The good news is that the Buckeyes still lead the Big Ten, which should come as no surprise to anyone, for the best chance to win it all.

The Big Ten rankings, as far as these odds are concerned, go with Ohio State, Michigan State, Wisconsin (33/1), Michigan (50/1), Nebraska (66/1), Iowa (100/1), and Rutgers (1000/1).

The betting odds also gives an over/under on Ohio State's regular season wins for this upcoming season:

NCAA 2014-2015 Regular Season Wins - Ohio State Buckeyes
Over 10½ (-130)
Under 10½ (EVEN)

With Braxton Miller entering his final season in the scarlet and gray, Ohio State hopes to make themselves a serious contender for the College Football Playoff for a shot at being the top team in the country.
