Following in the footsteps of his former teammate Damon Webb, 2015 Cass Tech defensive lineman Joshua Alabi has committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes add their second commit of the night after three-star tight end Josh Moore committed earlier in he evening. According to Rivals' Josh Helmholdt, Alabi tweeted his commitment literally in between reps at the Buckeyes' Friday Night Lights camp.
In Alabi, the Buckeyes are adding a 6'5, 270 pound strong-side defensive end (who some project could even play at offensive tackle or guard on the other side of the ball). Though many had been earmarking him for Michigan State, Alabi becomes the latest big time Michigan player to head to Ohio State.
Alabi is the 539th best player in the 2015 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings. He's the 63rd ranked offensive tackle and the eighth best player out of the state of Michigan. This is truly turning into a banner night for Mark Pantoni, Urban Meyer, and the Ohio State recruiting brain trust.
