Plenty of Ohio State recruiting news came about on Wednesday as they made the top group for one of their big 2015 targets at a position of need, will get an official visit from the best player in the class, and sent out one new offer.

The No. 1 player in the state of Arizona released his top six on Twitter last night. '15 WR Christian Kirk of Saguaro (AZ) will be making his collegiate decision between Arizona State, Auburn, Ohio State, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC. The Scottsdale speedster has offers from pretty much everywhere. Kirk comes in as the 4th best receiver in the nation and the 36th overall player in the 2015 recruiting class. Rivals.com recruiting analyst Adam Gorney believes the Aggies, Buckeyes and Trojans are in the best position to land Kirk.

Last Wednesday, we discussed where the nation's No. 1 player will be taking his official visits. This Wednesday we will discuss when he will take those official visits. Per 247Sports' Bill Kurelic, '15 DE Josh Sweat will make his first official to Columbus on September 6th when the Buckeyes take on the Hokies. Two weeks after the visit to Columbus, Sweat will head down to Virginia Tech to officially visit on the 20th of that month. In October, Sweat will make two more officials -- one at Georgia on the 4th and another at Florida State on the 18th. The last official planned for the top player in the land will be with Oregon on November 1st.

While getting the first of those visits isn't really ideal, it's a lot better then not getting one at all. Sweat is a 6'5, 240-pound pass-rusher from Oscar Smith (VA). The five-star weak-side defensive end unofficially visited the Buckeyes for the first time in late June. Florida State and Virginia Tech are the two schools with the most predictions for Sweat on the 247Sports Crystal Ball.

Ohio State sent out one new offer yesterday. '16 TE Naseir Upshur of Imhotep Institute (PA) was the recipient of the offer. Up to this point, Upshur has received offers from plenty of schools, including Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, South Carolina, Wisconsin and many others. Upshur is the 9th ranked tight end and the 6th ranked player in Pennsylvania for 2016.

'16 DE Josh King will be making an unofficial visit to Ohio State tomorrow. The Hinsdale South (IL) strong-side defensive end was in East Lansing yesterday to visit the Spartans. King is the No. 1 player in the state of Illinois and the No. 3 overall player at his position. The four-star from Darien, Illinois is also the 46th ranked player in the 2016 class. King has offers from twelve programs across the country and the Buckeyes are one of them.

We conclude with news from 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong that '16 OT Michael Jordan is planning to visit Ohio State this fall. The Plymouth (MI) prospect was a participant at Ohio State's Friday Night Lights camp last month and performed well enough to get an offer. Jordan is also planning to visit Michigan, Michigan State, and Notre Dame as well. The Wolverines and Buckeyes are the lone offers for the three-star talent at this point in his recruitment.
