The Greg Oden story had some feel good moments last year. After missing years with injuries, Oden came back to the court with the Miami Heat, appeared in 23 games, averaged 2.9 points and 2.3 rebounds, and was likely going to get a second crack at an NBA roster this season, especially after he showed a more promising April.
Now, his story appears to have taken a much darker turn, as Oden was arrested early this morning for alleged battery. From the Indianapolis Star:
Former NBA player Greg Oden was arrested in Lawrence this morning after allegedly punching a woman.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m. at 7237 Maple Bluff Place, according to a Lawrence Police Department report.
He faces a preliminary charge of battery.
Oden never really got into trouble at Ohio State, so this report may seem like a surprise to Buckeye fans. We'll continue to follow developments as this story progresses, but the alleged circumstances of the situation paint a dark picture.
