Ohio State vs Cincinnati 2014: GameThread

Ohio State looks to fend off an emotional Bearcat team in a big in-state showdown under the lights.

Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight's Ohio State-Cincinnati showdown doesn't figure to be your typical matchup with a fellow Ohio institution. The Bearcats have a Power 5 caliber head coach in Tommy Tuberville, who just happens to be 2-0 against Urban Meyer in his career. The Bearcats also have a more than Power 5 caliber QB, in 5-star recruit Gunner Kiel, who has already tossed 10 TDs this season.

Add all of that to Ohio State's secondary being a perceived weak spot on the team, and with the team hardly feeling invincible, even after clobbering Kent State two weeks ago, and you have a potentially interesting game at the Shoe.

Vegas likes the Buckeyes by 17, and the advanced stat projections seem to concur. Can Ohio State take advantage of what looks like an average at best Bearcat defense? Can the offensive line take a step forward after a blowout and a bye week? Let's all find out together. Join us for the GameThread.
