Land-Grant Holy Land can confirm a report that Ohio State will be wearing alternate Nike Rivalry uniforms when the No. 8 Buckeyes play host to Virginia Tech on Saturday night. After several Ohio State beat reporters tweeted photos of players wearing the chrome helmet with reflective Buckeye Leafs, College Spun's Andrew Holleran first reported the team would wear the alternate uniforms against the Hokies.

The Buckeyes wore Rivalry uniforms four times during the 2013 season, including the 2014 Orange Bowl loss against Clemson, at home against Penn State and Wisconsin, as well as on the road at Michigan. Ohio State debuted these uniforms, although with slight modifications, in the 2012 season-ending victory over Michigan.

A Nike source confirmed Holleran's report to Land-Grant Holy Land on Wednesday night, additionally stating that the uniforms are now considered a regular part of the Buckeyes' uniform repertoire.

Ohio State looks to improve to 7-1 in alternate uniforms, 4-1 in this particular look, since Nike began the Pro Combat system of dress in 2009.
