Here's something you probably didn't expect: Urban Meyer, Mark Pantoni, and the Ohio State recruiting braintrust just reeled in a big fish. 30 minutes into the national title game.
Receiving their second commitment of the day, OSU received news that the number one running back in the class of 2016 (per the 247Sports Composite rankings), Kareem Walker, wants to play his college football for the Buckeyes. To really spice things up, Walker had an offer from the team on the opposing sidelines, Oregon.
Walker, a five-star, checks in as the number two player from the state of New Jersey and the number nine overall player in all the 2016 class. At 6'1, 210, he brings a good mix of size and speed and must've been impressed by what he'd seen in the first half of Ohio State-Oregon's championship bout.
The ultra talented halfback becomes commit number five for Urban Meyer and company. Hubbard RB George Hill, defensive lineman Jonathon Cooper, offensive lineman Tyler Gerald, and wide receiver Kierre Hawkins join with Walker to make up OSU's junior class.
