As first reported by NBC 4's Harrison Hove, Ohio State's 2014 national championship celebration is set for Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at Ohio Stadium. The event will be free and open to the public. Ohio State later announced that the event will take place at the 'Shoe from 11 a.m. ET until noon.
The celebration is set to take place as many days after the Buckeyes' successful outing in the inaugural College Football Playoff Championship Game (11) as that game was after OSU's win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. The reason for the delay is likely the logistics and security necessary to execute such an event.
While the only thing we can expect for certain is for the conditions to be frigid and the need to layer up, Ohio State senior corner Doran Grant had hinted (whether seriously or not, who knows) he'd follow in the footsteps of Cie Grant (no relation) in singing Carmen Ohio in front of the gathered crowd. We'll have to see if he's good on his word.
