Urban Meyer talks Cardale Jones coming back, won't say Michigan on Letterman

David Letterman's career as one of late night's preeminent funny men is coming to a close, but Urban Meyer's mainstay at the top of college football while the leader of Ohio State is just getting started.

In a taped appearance for Friday night's The Late Show with David Letterman (spoiler alert: Letterman tapes two episodes every Thursday and Friday), Letterman spoke to Meyer just after the news that Cardale Jones had decided to return for his junior year had come out. Meyer states that he'd spoken with Jones and been in Cleveland (as since reported elsewhere) Thursday morning but doesn't quite tip his hand as to what's next for his potential three quarterback derby.

In true Meyer fashion, Letterman pesters him and tries to get him to says Michigan, but Meyer doesn't cave. In the teaser's closing, Letterman offers up some good advice on how to solve the problem of having three starting caliber quarterbacks: see if two of them are interested in being the mascot.

Urban Meyer's appearance on the The Late Show with David Letterman will air Friday evening at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
