Ohio State basketball has to be feeling a little bit better today. They're fresh off a royal clobbering of their rivals, Michigan, in front of their home crowd. Thanks to some upsets, they're still very much in the thick of the Big Ten race, and now they have a chance to avenge a home upset to start their Big Ten season, against the Iowa Hawkeyes. With a win, Ohio State likely jumps back into the Top 25, and should start to climb again on various mock brackets.
In their first meeting, Ohio State fell into a huge early hole, as was their custom against Louisville and North Carolina, and wasn't able to make up the difference in time. Aaron White was able to bully his way to ten free throw attempts and 18 points, and Jarrod Uthoff hit four threes and also scored 18. The Buckeyes got hammered on the glass, only shot 25% from downtown, and their backcourt of Shannon Scott and D'Angelo Russell struggled to shoot.
Can they fix those things in the road rubber match? Will Iowa continue to leverage their size advantage and keep the Buckeyes from gaining any real momentum? Better watch with us to find out. Join us in the GameThread.
