Seniors Aaron Gretz and Connor Sabanosh were selected by their peers to lead the Ohio State baseball team in 2015. Gretz, a native of Apple Valley, Minn., has three years of experience as a Buckeye under his belt, entering 2015 with 105 career starts. From Cave Creek, Ariz., Sabanosh appeared in 31 games for Ohio State in 2014, his first season in Columbus after transferring from Scottsdale Community College, who made the NCJAA World Series while he was on the team.
Since both Sabanosh and Gretz are catchers, during times in the upcoming season Ohio State will have a captain on the bench, which may be a little unusual.
The Ohio State catchers spoke to Land-Grant Holy Land, discussing how their shared duties make each other stronger, how they will help create a close-knit team on a mission to return glory to Ohio State, and how the team plans to turn back skeptics of the Buckeyes.
