Ohio State basketball is in a weird place right now. The team has won 15 games and has avoided any particularly bad losses, but they also don't have anything resembling a quality win. Minnesota, Illinois and Michigan have struggled and all may miss the NCAA Tourney, and while Northwestern played well against the Buckeyes, nobody is going to give you any extra credit for being a .500-ish Wildcast squad, even in Evanston.
Most brackets project the Buckeyes in the NCAAs for now, but a single bad loss could send them toppling to the bubble, and with the Big Ten, you can never feel safe while playing the dregs of the conference. Ohio State needs some breathing room and they need it badly, and they might not get a better chance than against the 23rd ranked Indiana Hoosiers, who come to Columbus.
The Buckeyes probably would have beaten Indiana on the road before, but a horrific three point shooting performance, along with some bad rebounding and a key free throw miss by Sam Thompson, kept them from grabbing the W. Now, they get a rematch in front of their home crowd. Do they have enough to get it done today? Indiana hasn't beaten Ohio State twice in one year since 2007-2008, after all.
