Following in the footsteps of fellow class of 2015 defensive backs Ben Edwards, and Tyler Green, four-star cornerback Carlton Davis has decommitted from Ohio State. 247Sports first reported the news. Pretty much always thought as a soft verbal after shocking many and committing to the Buckeyes during a radio show last summer, Davis will more than likely end up signing with a program closer to his family, and friends in Miami, FL.
Even though he has a solid relationship with the OSU coaches and current commits, Davis has flirted with other programs throughout his recruitment. Miami and Auburn are just two teams who were actively trying to add him to their 2015 recruiting class while he was still committed to OSU.
Davis, a 6'1, 190-pound cornerback who will probably make the switch to safety when he plays on the next level, was coached by 2 Live Crew rapper Luke "Uncle Luke" Campbell, a coordinator with Norland High.
While no one wants to see a recruit decommit, the Elite '15 are still in good shape to once again having a top five class. With Davis no longer a piece of the puzzle, the Buckeyes are currently considered the seventh overall program in the 247Sports Composite Team Rankings for 2015.
Land-Grant Holy Land wishes nothing but the best for Carlton, and his upcoming college decision.
