Hill backs off Buckeye pledge

In case you missed it, after months of speculation that '16 ATH George Hill would ultimately not be a member of this year's Ohio State recruiting class, the day has finally come. On Wednesday, the Hubbard (OH) standout finally backed off of his pledge to the Scarlet and Gray and will now look to be a student-athlete elsewhere.'s Bill Greene was the first to report the news on the four-star prospect.

"I have decided to decommit from Ohio State," Hill told Scout. "After talking with my family and my coaches, I have decided to reopen my recruitment. I want to thank Ohio State University and head coach Urban Meyer for the opportunity, and wish them nothing but the best moving forward." - George Hill to Bill Greene

Greene went on to say that Michigan State, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia are the three schools in the best position to land the 6'0, 200-pounder. Personally, and probably the majority would agree, the Spartans are the most likely team that reels in Hill. The former Buckeye pledge has made numerous visits to East Lansing as of late and is also a former teammate of MSU running back L.J. Scott.

Williams back on the market

Despite losing one member of the 2016 class, another one may be coming soon -- perhaps this weekend. '16 RB Antonio Williams, who will be in Columbus this weekend to watch the Buckeyes take on the Nittany Lions under the lights, backed off of his pledge to Wisconsin.

Williams was committed to the Badgers since December of last year and decommitted just one day after setting up his unofficial visit to the Buckeyes' campus. The visit came about when plenty of rumors began swirling about a possible departure from Ohio State pledge Kareem Walker. The North Stanly (NC) prospect is a four-star in the 2016 recruiting class and could very likely be the next to commit to Ohio State. We'll see if the Bucks are able to add the seventh-best running back in the country. It's important to note that this weekend's visit for Williams is just an unofficial, so the Buckeyes will likely get him back on campus once more after this.

Hayes sets officials

'16 LB Daelin Hayes, a prospect that the Buckeyes have had interest in for a long time, has announced his official visit schedule and OSU was surely excited to be included. Hayes, via Twitter, will be making a visit to Columbus on November 7th when Ohio State squares off against the Golden Gophers of Minnesota. The four other programs that Hayes will see officially are LSU, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma. For now, the Fighting Irish are the favorite to land the talented linebacker.

Hayes, who previously attended Cass Tech (MI), is now at Skyline High School in the Great Lakes state. He is a four-star prospect in the 2016 cycle and the ninth-best outside linebacker in the country. The Buckeyes have had some recent success with prospects in the state of Michigan -- '16 OT Michael Jordan is already a member of the class -- and surely they wouldn't mind adding Hayes to the Silver Bullets.
