Rutgers has a historic cannon!
If you weren't familiar, the Scarlet Knights feature a celebratory cannon that has roots all the way back to the American Revolution.
After Rutgers touchdowns, it's customary for the group in charge of it to let the cannon do its thing.
But there's just one problem.
In primetime, against Ohio State, the Scarlet Knights all but laid a goose egg.
With zero points (much less touchdowns) to show for themselves until there was 13 seconds, there wasn't a whole heck of a lot to celebrate.
And Ohio State fans who stayed for all four quarters in Piscataway did their part to let the historic reenactors hear it:
With little to play for, OSU fans finally got their wish. Those whacky historical reenactors fired the cannon after Rutgers' only score of the night -- and again after the subsequent PAT!
Buckeye fans will take what they can get. With the Blue Jackets playing the way they are, this might be the only cannon fodder they get for sometime.
