6 Ohio State players could go in the 1st round of the 2016 NFL Draft

This is one of the more stacked Ohio State teams with loads of talent heading to the NFL after this season.

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

Even ahead of the season, NFL scouts were drooling over the chance to add some Ohio State talent to their rosters. It remains to be seen how the Buckeyes will be affected with so many players either graduating or declaring for the draft a year year, but 2016 could be a record year for Ohio State draftees.

Following a season start that included a suspension and fewer snaps than last year, defensive lineman Joey Bosa is back to shrugging his way through opposing offenses. Through the bye week, Bosa is looking like a potential overall number one pick when the players head to Chicago, but he could be joined by several of his brothers, should the other five projected to go in the first round get invitations. This will be in stark contrast to the sole invitation for Devin Smith that the Buckeyes got last year.

There is still half the season left, post-season games, the NFL Combine and then Ohio State's pro day before any final decisions are made, but it's bound to be one of the more exciting offseasons for the Buckeyes. Last year, four players were invited to participate in the combine, but there could be more than double that in 2016.

The folks over at Bleacher Report took a shot at a mock draft for 2016 based on where these teams might likely finish the season.
